Tonira believes that Research and Innovation are the backbone of the Pharmaceutical Industry and hence has set up a Research Centre.

THE FACILITY

The facility at Tonira enables to carry out Basic Process Development, Analysis of Impurity Profile, Process Validation and Physico -chemical Studies.

The laboratory is equipped to carry out most of the Organic Reactions upto kilogram levels.

For special requirements of Instrumental Analysis and Information Updates, Tonira has association with National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, the renowned Chemistry Center of India.
The R & D Centre has a full-fledged pilot plant to carry out the transformation of Laboratory Processes into Industrial Manufacturing Processes .

THE TEAM

The team comprises of Scientists from Recognized Universities, having Doctorate and Masters Degree in Organic Chemistry, with experience in industrial process development in the Pharmaceutical Industry.

There is a Technology Transfer Team comprising of Chemists as well as Chemical and Environmental Engineers.

THE ACHIEVEMENTS

The R & D Division at Tonira has developed and commercialised more than eight technologies in the last three years.

The Research Centre has been accorded “Recognition” by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in 1998. Tonira has filed patents on its manufacturing processes in India, Canada and Japan.
